Roberto Ottaviano (Bari, 1957) is a renowned Italian saxophonist and composer with a five-decade-long career. He has recorded dozens of albums and collaborated with jazz legends like Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Reggie Workman, and Enrico Rava. In recent years, he won Musica Jazz’s critics' award for Jazz Album of the Year twice and was named Italian Jazz Musician of the Year in 2022 and 2024. His project Eternal Love pays tribute to Africa and addresses themes of migration, racism, and social justice through music. Ottaviano also leads the Italian Jazz Federation and is a dedicated educator, having founded and led the jazz department in Bari for nearly 40 years.
