Spanish pianist and composer Marta Sánchez (1983) released two albums in Spain before moving to New York in 2011 on a Fulbright scholarship to study jazz performance at NYU. She soon formed her own quintet, releasing original music on „Partenika“ (2015), „Danza Imposible“ (2017), „El Rayo de Luz“ (2019), and „SAAM“ (2022). „Partenika“ and „El Rayo de Luz“ were named among The New York Times’ top ten albums of the year. In addition to her solo work, Sánchez has collaborated with Oscar Noriega, María Grand, Sara Serpa, Emma Frank, and Alfredo Colón, and composed award-winning film scores. In 2022, she formed a trio with bassist Chris Tordini and drummer Savannah Harris, releasing „Perpetual Void“, which received 4.5 stars in DownBeat, where she was also voted Rising Star Pianist in this year’s critics poll. Harris and bassist Matt Penman join her on this tour. (2022). Muzikom na ovim albumima stekla je izuzetnu pažnju medija, a „Partenika“ i „El Rayo de Luz“ našli su se među najboljih deset albuma godine, po mišljenju kritičara časopisa The New York Times.
