Belgrade-born saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Đorđe Kujundžić (1993) received classical training as a clarinetist, studying in Belgrade, Lugano and Lucerne, where he earned a master’s degree under the guidance of renowned clarinetist Paolo Beltramini. His thesis, “The Melodic Library of Babel”, was inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ short story “The Library of Babel”. After returning to Serbia, Kujundžić studied jazz at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and became active across jazz, rock and classical music. First introduced to the saxophone during his studies in Switzerland, he began with alto before adding baritone, which gradually became his principal instrument. His international performances with groups including Naked have taken him to festivals such as Jazz sous les pommiers, Horizonte Festival, ACC World Music Festival and WOMEX. In 2025, he released two albums under his own name: “The Sound of Night”, featuring his compositions for jazz quartet and performed exclusively on baritone saxophone, and “Ante Grgin – Sonate”, recorded with pianist Olga Petrović on clarinet and alto saxophone.
