"They've got it all: fire, sweetness, the ability to step on the one so hard that you nearly fall over, a seemingly inexhaustible flow of ideas and the best thing of all: real telepathy... this band is a monster. They'll make you a part of themselves and won't let go until THEY feel like it... but by then, you won't want to leave." (Philip Yaeger)

Quartet Kompost 3 builds on foundations set by Miles and his funk-jazz as well as European psychedelic, discovering a unique path between jazz and rock, free improvisations, vibrating keyboards and groove rhythm. Since forming (in Vienna, 2009), the band has released three albums, several singles and a vinyl remix edition, performed at important festivals in Middle Europe, Mexico and the USA, gaining a reputation as one of Austria's most exciting young formations.

Members of this collective hold solo recitals and are active in other projects related to the Austrian jazz and improv scene, like Rom/Schaerer/Eberle and Die Strottern & Blech, Omerzell/ Siewert/König, Jazzorchester Vorarlberg, Gabbeh, Schtum, Tearing, Mopcut, PLF, Synesthetic Octet and The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters, among others. Teamed with pop singer Mira Lu Kovacs, they form a quintet 5K HD. They also won two very prestigious awards, the BAWAG P.S.K. Next Generation Jazz Award for 2014 and the 2014 German Bremen Jazz Award. The combo performed at the Belgrade Jazz Festival in 2018, when they were among the most impressive acts in an unofficial survey conducted among international jazz critics.
